Es Setif players warm up at Karume Stadium in Dar es Salaam Yesterday.
Simba`s opponents in the Confederation Cup Es Setif from Algeria eventually landed at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam yesterday morning, five days ahead of the encounter.
The first leg match will be played at the National Stadium on Sunday.
The contingent involved 35 people on board the flight of whom 20 are players and the rest are officials and journalists.
The Tanzania Football Federation’s information officer, Boniface Wambura, had earlier released the full line-up of the twenty players who are Mohamed Benhamou, Sofiane Bengorine, Riadh Benchadi, Smain Diss, Farouk Belkaid, Khaled Gourmi, Mourad Delhoum, Said Arroussi, Mokhtar Benmoussa, Tarek Berguiga, Mohamed Aoudi and Amir Karaoui.
Others are Mohamed El Amine Tiouli, Racid Ferrahi, Youcef Ghezzali, Youssef Sofiane, Mokhtar Megueni, Rachid Nadji, Abderrahmane Hachoud and Akram Djahnit.
The team arrived with their Swiss coach Alain Norbert Geiger.
Es Setif will be the second club from Algeria to play against Simba in Confederation Cup after Al-Harrach who were knocked out at the quarterfinal stage in 1993.
In a build up towards the Sunday clash, hosts Simba have already been permitted by the Government to make use of the National Stadium for final practice sessions prior to the Sunday game.
However, Simba’s spokesman Ezekiel Kamwaga said spectators will not be allowed to watch the training progress of the host team.
Simba are playing against the Algerian team after edging Rwanda’s Kiyovu Sport by 3-2 goals aggregate, winning the return leg at home by a delicate victory of 2-1 goals.
Simba are leading the Mainland premiership by 47 points to enjoy a three-point gap over second laced Azam FC in the 12-team league.
